FEEL AT HOME

A few things before you meet.

Everything you need for a conversation that everyone can follow.

01

Start or join

Create a meeting from Overview, or paste an invitation link. Check your name, camera and microphone before entering. You can join with both devices off.

02

Choose your languages

‘I speak’ is the language you’ll use. ‘I want to hear’ is the language for captions and translated audio. They can be different. Turn on translated audio in the meeting when you want to listen in that language.

03

Hear everyone clearly

Wear headphones to prevent echoes. Speak at a natural pace and leave brief pauses between turns. Translation can take a moment. You can always switch back to original audio.

04

Host a webinar

The host presents; attendees watch and listen. Use People to admit guests and manage presenters. Guests can use chat, ask questions and respond to polls.

05

Keep a recording

Hosts can start and stop recording in the meeting. Let participants know before recording. The original conversation is saved; it appears in Recordings after processing finishes.

06

Camera or microphone blocked?

Open your browser’s site permissions and allow camera and microphone access. Close other apps using the device, then try again. You can also join with devices off and enable them later.

07

Can’t connect?

Check your internet connection and invitation code. If you opened the link inside a messaging app, open it in Safari or Chrome. After a connection loss, choose Rejoin to try a fresh connection.

08

Find your meetings on another device

Sign in to access meetings and recordings across devices. Without an account, your host access is saved in the browser where you created the meeting.

Translation is generated automatically.

Names, specialist terms and overlapping speech can be misheard. Use the original audio or ask the speaker to clarify when accuracy matters.
